  • To log in to the GRE Diagnostic Service, enter your 7-digit registration number, the month and 2-digit year you took the computer-based GRE General Test, and your date of birth (2-digit month, 2-digit day, and 4-digit year).
  • This service performs best when you use Internet Explorer 7.x or higher. The response time may be faster during off-peak hours.
  • To increase the viewing area of your browser, you may want to maximize the window to the full screen, and minimize the menu bars at the top of the browser.
  • Note that this service provides information about each of the test questions you viewed within the sections of your operational test. Test questions that you did not get to within any given section are excluded. For example, if you viewed only 15 of the 20 test questions in your second Verbal Reasoning section, no information will be presented for the 5 questions that you did not see.
  • GRE Diagnostic Service is safe. Our application transmits your information using Apache Open Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, an industry standard for secure Internet commerce. It encrypts all of your personal information so that it cannot be read by others as the information travels over the Internet.

  • Reference#:This number represents the sequence number of the question within the specific category in GRE Diagnostic Service. Note that this number is not the actual number of the question as it appeared in the operational test.
  • Question Type: The particular kind of question being asked, such as Multiple-choice Select One or Select in Passage in the Verbal Reasoning section.
  • Right/Wrong: "Right" indicates that the question was answered correctly."Wrong" indicates that the question was answered incorrectly."Omitted" indicates that the question was viewed but no response was recorded.
  • Difficulty Level: Within each of the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections, questions have been divided into five difficulty levels. The levels range from 1, representing the easiest questions, to 5, representing the hardest questions.
  • Time Spent: The total amount of time you spent on the question.
